As life gets busier this fall, the last thing we want is to have our home work be even more complicated and messy. Low maintenance kitchens are a great way to keep house work to a minimum so you can focus on the parts of life that are the most important to you.
1. Minimal detailed doors
The more detailed the door, the more effort it takes to clean. Choosing flat or Shaker style cabinet doors will cut down on cleaning maintenance.
2. Flush Cabinets
When your cabinet doors and drawers touch, it cuts out a lot of the places dirt can hide. They are smooth so you can easily wipe over everything with a single movement
3. Keep it simple
If you cut out the designer details such as crown moldings, decorative legs and corbels, you are left with flat surfaces. If you still desire a designer touch, try bright colors, or eccentric lighting.
5. Avoid glass front doors
As trendy as glass door cabinets are right now, they are definitely not efficient. Glass attracts dust, dirt, and smudges. Plus, you’ll have to keep whatever you have stored behind those doors extra tidy.
